Driving towards the Couchois from the direction of Beaune, you come through the beautiful vineyards of Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, each of them known for their distinctive interpretations of Burgundy white wines.
As we drove down the D974, it was just before sunset and the vineyards to our right looked simply gorgeous. A little further towards Santenay, the views are very scenic as well, especially along the river Dheune. Finally driving up to Domaine de Rymska, you realise just how remote the hotel and restaurant is. But it’s all very calming and welcoming.
For dinner, we went for the smaller Campagne Royale menu of 4 courses, having already eaten out every day of the week so far. As you can see in the pictures below, all dishes were beautifully laid out on the plates. The tableware was very pretty and elegant in general. We liked the service very much. It was professional but laid-back at the same time. Both in terms of presentation and service, Rymska can certainly hold its own compared to the Michelin-starred restaurants in Burgundy. We’ll certainly come back in the future! Next time hopefully with a stay at their hotel, so we can fully enjoy their selection of wines, too.
