Pure and clear ruby red colour. Very inviting and harmonious aroma of red berries: Cherry, strawberry, also slightly jammy red plum. Subtly vanilla-like in the background. A little earthy, but this may be due to the fact that my bottle has been in the cellar for two years and could be showing first tertiary notes. Showing well. Slender body with light alcohol (12.0%) and velvety tannins. Hardly drying and with good drinking flow, whereby the subtle acidity ensures that the wine does not come across as sweet or cooked. The palate is again red-fruity (fresh cherry, redcurrant, raspberry), but the St. Laurent adds a peppery touch and depth. A little short on the finish nevertheless, the focus was probably on the "drinkability". Accordingly, this vintage cuvée flows pleasantly and should also appeal to those who tend to shy away from "bigger" red wines. Limited ageing potential.
This note is for AP number 425724601920, which is not the most recent "Vintages" edition on the market.
Drink through 2026.
