Clear medium ruby in colour. Tainted streaks in the glass, some extraction. Almost no signs of age. Attractive medium to high intensity fruits on the nose: Red plum, slightly cooked, prune, strawberry, raspberries. Hints of grilled green pepper in the background. There's also a touch of smoke and vanilla, suggesting new oak. Balanced and solid. Palate: drying, integrated tannins. Full-bodied and high in alcohol. Medium acidity, just about in balance with the intensity of the wine. The ripe, exuberant fruit is a little darker on the taste: Strawberry, fig, prune, blackberry, black cherry. Some dark chocolate, which can also be found on the finish. This might not have the structure but certainly the intensity for another five to ten years of ageing.
Drink through 2030.
