Crémant d'Alsace AOC Crémant d'Alsace is an Alsatian regional appellation established in 1976 for traditional-method sparkling wines produced since the 19th century. Grapes must originate from the Alsace AOC. Permitted white varieties include Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Auxerrois, and Chardonnay, while Pinot Noir is utilised for Blanc de Noirs and Rosé. Regulations mandate minimum ageing of nine months on lees and a minimum alcohol content of 8.5% ABV (averaging 12%). The term "Sigillé" denotes award recognition by the Confrérie Saint-Étienne. |
