2024 Bründlmayer Grüner Veltliner Kamptal Terrassen

Tasting note

2024 Bründlmayer Grüner Veltliner Kamptal Terrassen

Pale lemon-yellow. Cool, bright-fruited nose with a touch of herbal spice. Apple, quince, grape juice, with a hint of nutmeg. Delicately fruity on the palate with a slender body. Green apple, grapes. Fine acidity, very moreish. Very light on the palate, yet with good length. Shows elegance. A lovely wine.

Drink through 2028.

This designation of origin for Kamptal wines has existed since 2008. Initially limited to Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris have been permitted since 2024. The wines must be dry, with minimum alcohol levels defined. Alongside the Kamptal DAC designation — with or without a village and vineyard name — there is also a separate category for more powerful wines (Reserve, at least 13% ABV, where limited botrytis and oak influence are allowed).
