2016 Gaja Barbaresco

Tasting note

2016 Gaja Barbaresco

Pale garnet red. Elegant on the nose, polished, red-fruited (cherry, a hint of raspberry) with dark-berry nuances, floral notes (rose petals), balsamic, delicately spicy, slightly tarry, with a touch of forest floor. Shows real finesse. Firm and well-defined on the palate. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and juicy fruit, appearing brighter now (red cherry, currant, plum), yet still dominated by balsamic and mineral undertones. A beautifully balanced, elegant Barbaresco with a solid core. Truly excellent, and with a long life ahead of it.

Drink through 2036.
