From a half bottle. Purple in colour. The bouquet features ripe dark fruits. Black plum and blackcurrant. Juicy fruit on the taste. Blackcurrant, again, and bramble. Similar overall to the bottle I had in November, though this one is just a little more evolved, with more earthy notes and a tad less freshness. Still, a very good to excellent wine. Drinking nicely now.
Drink through 2030.

12Wines with a DM9 to DM12 rating are very good wines, above average even in the world of fine wine. That means these wines have been produced really well. They are pure, balanced, and have no flaw whatsoever. They begin to show complexity. Moreover, these wines have their own character and transport typicity and terroir. / 20 ("very good") |

Vintage: |
2014 Good wines were made all over Bordeaux, albeit with some variation across the appellations. Successful vintage especially for Cabernet Sauvignon on the left bank, notably in Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac. If anything, the wines may have matured better than initially expected. They're classic, structured Bordeaux reds that have been attractive from the start but are only now beginning to shine. Good year for both dry and sweet white wines, too. Possibly the best vintage since 2010, but sometimes overlooked because of the excellent 2015 vintage that followed. Accordingly, prices have remained relatively affordable. |
