Deep ruby to purple. A delightful Pinot bouquet of medium intensity, with cherry and redcurrant. The fruit is vibrant and fresh, nothing cooked or jammy. Hints of coconut and toasted spice from the barrel, all wrapped in a pleasant earthiness. I find the aroma appealing and it leaves me wanting more. On the palate, supple and fresh, with ripe acidity. The tannins are soft. Once again red fruits – cherry, redcurrant, plum – but with depth and substance. A hint of coffee. Noticeable use of oak. Not overdone. The balance between body and elegance is really good, and the alcohol well integrated. Lingers nicely on the finish. A very good German expression of Pinot Noir.

Baden Baden is Germany's southernmost wine growing region. It stretches about 400 kilometers from north to south along the Rhine. Baden is also Germany's warmest wine region. Much like its French neighbour Alsace, its climate is heavily influenced by its location in between the Vosges and the Black Forest, shielding it from cold winds and heavy rains. Best-known for Burgundian varieties, especially Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder), Pinot Blanc (Weißburgunder) and Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder). More than 15,000 hectares of vineyards.
