2022 Le Pupille Saffredi

Tasting note

Deep purple in appearance. The nose is initially somewhat reserved, displaying dark fruit profiles of cherry and plum with a slightly stewed character alongside earthy, mineral undertones and subtle vanilla from oak maturation. While the bouquet remains relatively closed, the palate reveals high acidity and youthful tannins, shifting towards a red fruit profile of redcurrant and strawberry with a discreet sweetness; the alcohol is elevated but well-integrated into the mid-palate. Although the wine opens up with aeration, it does not yet fully reveal its complexity; it possesses a good finish but requires further cellaring to reach its full potential.

Drink from 2029 through 2045.
